Meet the Eigenharp.
An Eigenharp is an electronic instrument made by Eigenlabs, founded in 2006, which aims to recreate a whole host of orchestral instruments in one go.
This is just not practical…
It features tonnes of high-tech gizmos, and is touch sensitive to one micron, which is the width of a human cell. All to give you the most intuitive and sensitive musical experience possible.
And it works. Skip to [02:00] to hear the ‘wonderfully expressive clarinet’…
And that’s just the Pico. Later in the video you meet its big brother, the Eigenharp Alpha, which packs even more of a punch.
Check out the full demonstration at [06:20]. The Eigenharp Alpha even has a strip down the side which can be played with a cello bow.
A BOW. We live in the future.
Shame I’ve only just discovered this… It’s a long time until next Christmas…
